What data powers the Historical Activity tool?
State scores use FEMA declaration frequency, NOAA storm-event frequency, NOAA recorded damage, and declared-hazard diversity. County scores use FEMA declaration frequency, state-relative declaration density, Major Disaster share, and declared-hazard diversity because this database has no county-level NOAA damage. FEMA National Risk Index values appear separately on county results and are never merged into the PlainHazard score.
What will a county lookup return?
Every county in the registry carries a FEMA declaration file (3,266 counties). About 99% also have a National Risk Index overall score, and about 90% have an NFIP claims row. Missing layers stay blank rather than invented.
