A National Weather Service survey team found that a tornado in eastern Laurens County crossed Mercer Creek into Treutlen County just east of Thairdell Road with maximum wind speeds of 80 MPH and a maximum path width of 100 yards. The tornado moved northeast damaging a few trees along Knox Mill Road and Red Bluff Church Road before ending near Highway 29 and Briarcliff road. No injuries were reported.
